The theme this yearly meeting is "Knowing, Being, Doing"

What to Bring? Yearly Meeting provides a comfortable cabin, bed and mattress. So, remember to bring your own bedding, pillow and towels. Many folks also like to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, water bottle/coffee mug, umbrella. Worship in Song or Rise up Singing song books, musical instruments, and old sheets for privacy curtains if staying in dorms.

Mobility Challenges? Don't let them keep you at home. If a little motorized assistance enables you to attend - plan on doing so. Friends have volunteered to drive friends from one location to another - or at least as close to those locations as a car can get. Just let the registrar know what your needs are and we will work on plans to assist.

First TIme Attenders? Greeters will be on hand to answer "first" questions, show you around the camp, help you find your lodging space, introduce you to others, etc. Later Friends wearing Ask Me badges will be available to answer questions or help you overcome challenges and clear up confusion. And we will have short meetings on Thursday after dinner and Friday after lunch and dinner, where first timers can get information, meet other first timers, and get directions, And if you are a shy first time and don't want all this attention, that's all right too.

About Green Family Camp: South Central Yearly Meeting has been meeting at Greene Family Camp for its annual sessions since 1991. The Camp is owned and operated by a group of Reformed Jewish synagogues, temples and organizations. In the years since we have been meeting there, the Camp has undergone several improvements including a new dining hall, office complex and sports center. Ther are a wide variety of sleeping accommodations and meeting spaces all with heating and air conditioning. The Health House and Motel complex provide rooms with two twin beds and a private bath. The Couples' Cabins have two bedrooms sharing a bath. Most of the group cabins have eight lower bunks with an attached shared bath.

The Theater in the Activities Center is used for our business and plenary sessions, as well as for most community events. We use many of the other spaces such as classrooms for workshops, committee meetings and programs for our youth.

Meals are served buffet style. SCYM"s Yearly Meeting Planning Committee works with the Camp's Food Service Director to provide meals that will meet the needs of our attenders. While not strictly Kosher, they do maintain some customs such as serving sausage made from turkey rather than pork. We know about one third of our attenders will chose the vegan/vegetarian options, but we need to know about three weeks ahead of your arrival if you have special needs such as medical diets in order to provide for them. In addition, anyone may supplement the Camp meals with their own items. We have use of a full kitchen in the Fireplace Room, and a refrigerator and microwave in the Health House.

Mobility issues may be difficult for some since there is a hill between the Activities Center (Theater) and the Dining Hall, so we provide a "taxi" service up and down the hill, as well as allowing those with special needs to drive around the campus. All buildings have at grade access.
