Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers for the following tasks are needed during SCYM annual sessions. Please consider how you might be of service.

Youth Program Volunteers

The Youth Program needs teachers and part-time volunteers. You do not need to be a professional teacher to qualify. Please consider these opportunities for yourself if you are planning to attend this year or pass this message on to the members of your Monthly Meeting.

The Youth Program is also looking for adults interested in sharing their talents with the Youth. Perhaps you like to play the guitar and could teach the Littlest Friends a song. Or spend some time with a group writing poetry.  Nature walk leaders, crafters, storytellers...  All ideas are welcome. If interested, please contact the Youth Program Coordinator.

We need someone to oversee the egg dying during a youth program session. The eggs and dying supplies will be available. Please contact the Youth Program Coordinator

Tech Events Volunteers
Volunteers for the Tech Events team assist Friends during the online Zoom meetings. This includes helping online participants move into breakout rooms, muting noisy mics, recording sessions, and monitoring the chat during hybrid sessions. Contact the Tech Events clerk

Checking Beds
The onsite coordinator needs someone to help do stability checks on the beds at Greene Family Camp starting at around 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 2. Please contact the onsite coordinator if you can help.

Booktable Unpacking, Setting Up and Repacking
The book tables will be coordinated by Liz Yeats and Lois Way.  Please find one of us in the dining room on Thursday afternoon to help check the books in and set them out. Volunteer help is also needed at the end of the meeting to recheck and pack books that have not sold and a volunteer is needed to get the returned books to a UPS store. Please see one of us for any or all of these opportunities to serve and play with Quaker books.
